Congratulations to Mission Viejo resident Barbara Attell, the first lucky winner in the Friends of the Library's "Fabulous Fall Fundraiser."

The fundraiser is meant to help update and replenish the library's collection while the Friends' bookstore is closed. 

Back by popular demand! Fun and engaging Penguin Random House reps will discuss their newest book releases for avid readers, book club groups, and for holiday gift-giving.

If you've been by the Mission Viejo Library lately, you've probably spotted the colorful, artistic installation near the Kershaw Garden. This welcoming spot provides temporary outdoor seating and study space with vibrant barriers to aid in maintaining social distance and safety.

Visitors can enjoy the fall weather in the shaded seating areas, and public Wi-Fi is available during library operating hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 8 pm and Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5 pm. The Lounge is up until Thanksgiving and will return in 2021.

Elementary school students are invited to participate in a special literacy program that puts a smile on everyone's face: Paw Readathon!

In this interactive Zoom program, kids take turns reading to Roxy, a beautiful and sweet-natured therapy dog. Many kids have missed their monthly visits with Roxy, so the library is offering them a safe and fun way to catch up with their favorite canine volunteer.

The Mission Viejo Library is reopening to the public by appointment on Tuesday, October 6. Patrons can make a reservation at https://cmvl.as.me one week in advance. Reservations are good for an hour, and a single reservation can include a family unit.
