Police Services

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 6 when Mission Viejo joins thousands of communities nationwide for the annual National Night Out community safety fair.

In celebration of our safe City, Mission Viejo Police Services is hosting this year's expanded interactive fair from 5-8 pm at Cordova Park, 26931 El Retiro.

National Night Out celebrates Mission Viejo's continual ranking as one of California's safest cities while fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.

Take Me Home is a regional registry for people who may need special assistance if they are alone or in times of emergency. This kind of assistance may be required if the person is unable to speak or properly identify themselves, or if they become disoriented or act in a manner that could be misinterpreted by first responders.  If a person in the Take Me Home system is encountered by a deputy sheriff, law enforcement can query the Take Me Home system, searching by name or by the person's physical description.

For the last three decades, Mission Viejo Police Services and the City have valued the great work of the Senior Corps of Retirees (SCOR) volunteers.  Dedicated, loyal and selfless, these folks perform many important services that enhance our community's safety - and exemplify volunteerism.

If you've visited the City Hall second floor, you've probably been greeted by a friendly SCOR volunteer.  Last year, these volunteers assisted more than 6,000 people.

Religious leaders from throughout Orange County are invited to a special presentation by Secure OC Schools designed to help improve safety in their organizations and places of worship.

The presentation is from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, June 10 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

In an effort to promote traffic safety, Mission Viejo Police Services is hosting a Defensive Driving Workshop twice this month.

For the public's convenience, the workshop will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon in the City Council Chamber and then again on Thursday, May 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the City Hall Saddleback Room.

In an effort to keep kids safe, Mission Viejo Police Services is hosting an upcoming Childhood Watch Safety Academy.

As part of the Stay Safe OC program, the free four-meeting program is designed to offer first through fifth grade students living in Mission Viejo an array of tools to help keep them safe.

The classes take place on Wednesday nights beginning May 8-29 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at Mission Viejo City Hall, 200 Civic Center.

The City of Mission Viejo and Orange County Sheriff's Department will take part in National Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27 as part of an ongoing effort to prevent drug abuse and theft.

With warmer weather in our midst, Mission Viejo Police Services is reminding you to take the following precautions while enjoying the spring and summer seasons:

This is a story about hardship, homelessness, compassion, partnership and progress. It’s about Tamara and Cory Winston and their three young children – Piper, 2; Blaze, 4; and Zane, 9 – who spent nearly two years living out of their SUV before finding a roof over their heads thanks to the efforts of Police Services, the City and our partnerships with nonprofit organizations.

Enjoy the luck of the Irish by savoring green pancakes and bacon from 9 a.m. to noon at Los Alisos Intermediate School on St. Patrick's Day in memory of fallen Mission Viejo Sergeant Matt Davis.

Donate $5 or more for this breakfast fundraiser in support of Deputy Carolynn Cuzynski's participation in the Police Unity Tour.
