City provides alternate meal options for Mission Viejo’s seniors
While residents follow state guidelines of staying home to limit exposure to COVID-19, the City is reminding seniors if they’re unable to grocery shop or have food delivered to their homes from grocery stores, the City is here to help.
For more than two decades, the City has hosted the Meals on Wheels program, a home-delivery service through Age Well Senior Services. Volunteers deliver meals weekdays – either three or five days a week – between the hours of 10:30 am and 1 pm. The City’s Senior Meal Program also provides curbside grab-and-go lunches available from 11 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday from the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center. Both programs for seniors 60 and older continue to operate while the center is closed to the public during the pandemic.

My mom, Carol Hecht, was…
My mom, Carol Hecht, was having Meals on Wheels delivered to her a few years back. When she felt better, she stopped the service. Now, she is 87 years old and is in need of Meals on Wheels again. She can barely walk, has impaired vision, and some Alzheimer's. How can I get her signed up to receive meals again? Thank you, Christine Yukech
