Registration is available for the next exciting Middle School Teen Scene "Splash" Friday, May 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sierra Recreation Center, 26887 Recodo Lane.

If you think you can handle the Polar Bear Plunge, then make plans to attend the Sierra Snow Summit on Saturday, January 28. The spa at the Sierra Recreation Center will be transformed into a mini winter wonderland as part of a family-friendly event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This fun afternoon will feature more than 180 gallons of artificial snow, winter treats including snow cones and hot chocolate, photo opportunities, games and much more. The heated swimming pool will be open so bring your swim suits to ride the water slide.

As the City prepares for the upcoming holidays, the public should be aware of facility operating hours.

Mission Viejo City Hall will be closed Monday, December 26 through Monday, January 2.

Young and old alike are joining the pickleball craze in Mission Viejo and now you can too. The Sierra Recreation Center is offering 5-week beginner pickleball clinics on Fridays from December 30 through January 27 and February 10 through March 10.

Young and old alike are joining the pickleball craze in Mission Viejo and now you can too. The Sierra Recreation Center is offering 5-week pickleball clinics every Friday through December 16. The Friday clinics then resume from December 30 through January 27.

The one-hour clinics are offered in the morning at 9 a.m. and at night at 5 p.m.

Pickleball is considered America's fastest-growing sport. Created for all ages and skill levels, the game combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
