The Mission Viejo Activities Committee is gearing up for its annual 4th of July Street Faire & Fireworks Spectacular on Olympiad between Marguerite and Melinda.

The fun kicks off at noon with live entertainment on three different stages. Patrons will enjoy rides, food and game booths run by local service groups as well as more than 30 booths offering up crafts and gift ideas. Admission is free with tickets available for games and rides.

Grab your family and friends and come play in your own backyard at the Garden + Grille on Friday, May 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with live music featuring Pop Vision playing Top 40 and danceable pop-rock.

Cocktails and an evening food menu will be available for purchase in this outdoor garden-vibe setting. Reservations are not required and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The City Council on Tuesday received the results of the recent community opinion survey as well as an update regarding part of the region’s water transmission and delivery system.

On the heels of a YouTube Short the City created that has garnered more than 23 million views, join Mission Viejo Mayor Trish Kelley and Orange County Fire Authority’s Steve Concialdi for a deeper discussion about the staging of an emotional reenactment of a DUI traffic collision at Capistrano Valley High School (CVHS).

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, head to the North Paseo at LOS OSOS for the Night Market.

The fun takes place on Saturday, May 18 from 5 to 9 pm at 25282 Marguerite Parkway.

This Night Market has an ‘80s theme and includes live music by Class of the ‘80s, family games, crafts, more than 50 vendors, a variety of foodie booths and trucks, sweet treats, photo opportunities and more. Beer will also be available for purchase from TapTruck OC.

The short video Mission Viejo Community Relations staff filmed of a simulated DUI crash at Capistrano Valley High School has more than 10 million views and counting; hundreds of thousands of likes; and thousands of comments. The City's YouTube Channel also increased the number of subscribers tenfold.

Spoil mom with a spectacular Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 12 at Terrace on the Green. Overlooking the picturesque Oso Creek Golf Course, this special day includes live jazz music and two seatings at 10 am and 12:30 pm.

With hundreds of elite athletes taking part in the annual Orange County Triathlon on Sunday, April 28, the City is reminding residents to be aware of road closures in place.

This Olympic-distance event traverses Mission Viejo neighborhoods and surrounding communities and includes a 1.5K swim in Lake Mission Viejo. Athletes then ride along the 40K bike course through Santiago Canyon, with part of the race crossing the 1984 Olympic finish line near the lake. Other events include an Aquathon and Duathlon.
