Mission Viejo Animal Services Center has a Foster Care Program for local residents to temporarily house shelter animals until they are ready for adoption. There are a variety of foster home situations including bottle fed kittens or puppies, pregnant cats or dogs and surgery recuperation. Foster families must live in close proximity to the shelter in case of  emergencies and must also have a spare room in their home dedicated to housing foster animals.

Since 1992, Mission Viejo Animal Services Center has provided thousands of animals in our community with the best care and treatment. We are a pro-humane facility that cares for homeless animals until they can be reunited with their owner or placed in a new permanent home.

None of this could be accomplished without our compassionate and dedicated volunteers. Volunteers work side by side with our staff caring for our animals and helping with education and outreach to the community.

Mission Viejo Animal Services will be CLOSED on Tuesday, July 4th, in observance of the holiday.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have an emergency, please contact the Orange County Sheriff at (949) 770-6011.

Ralphy is a 5 year old tan and black wire-hair terrier who is a sweet and shy little fellow, waiting for a loving home.  Ralphy can be timid at first and is cautious when encountering new situations.   Although his background is unknown, it is clear that he had very little positive interaction with people and the outside world.  He would do best in a quiet home with no young children and an experienced dog owner who is willing to put in the time to increase this little guy’s confidence.
