Animal Services

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center has a Foster Care Program for local residents to temporarily house shelter animals until they are ready for adoption. There are a variety of foster home situations including bottle fed kittens or puppies, pregnant cats or dogs and surgery recuperation. Foster families must live in close proximity to the shelter in case of emergencies and must also have a spare room in their home dedicated to housing foster animals.

Berry the terrier is a 6-year-old scruff ball with the most endearing underbite you’ve ever seen.  At roughly 35 pounds, he’s the perfect size – large enough to take on adventures but small enough to share your bed.

Get ready to hop on over to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center February 10-11 to meet your match and take home a free bunny.

For this Valentine Bunny Adoption promotion, all fees will be waived for approved applicants. If you qualify, along with a fluffy new friend, you’ll receive a free veterinarian exam and complete rabbit care packet for your new Valentine.

The center is located at 28095 Hillcrest. For more information, call 949-470-3062 or visit cmvas.org.

Butternut is a 5-year-old domestic shorthaired cat who is overflowing with personality. He is passionate about play time and loves being around people. Although, Butternut is not your typical cat – and acts more like a dog when displaying his playful demeanor.

When finished playing, he will sit on your lap and enjoy a good brushing. Because of his energetic playfulness, he’s better off in a home without young children.

Dana is a special 2-year-old calico cat.  Found by a Good Samaritan on the side of the I-5 freeway, Dana was brought to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center with a severely injured leg that required amputation.

Since then, Dana has healed beautifully and has no problem getting around on only three legs.  She even climbs cat trees!  Dana is extremely loving and just wants to be around people – but not other cats.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home without other felines.
