Animal Services

There is no better time or month to open your heart and home to this 3 year-old female tabby named June.  A Mission Viejo family found the expectant mother outside and provided her with a safe place to have her kittens. Unfortunately the family had allergies so June was relinquished to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center along with 2 of her kittens. June’s babies were just as beautiful as she is, with long brown tabby fur that flickers with amber undertones in the sunlight.

Kitten season is well underway at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center with many adorable kittens - like Treavor - ready for adoption.

From sleek black kitties to charming calicos and everything in between, the center has the kitten of your dreams!

If you're ready to add a furry bundle of joy to your family, visit the center at 28095 Hillcrest today.  All kittens will go home vaccinated, dewormed, spayed or neutered and microchipped.

The DAWG Adoption Extravaganza, formerly the DAWG Walk will be held on October 6, 2018 on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park .

The City of Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are hosting the fun-filled family event that includes a Howl-A-Ween pet costume contest and pet and wildlife exhibits.

Mr. Nice Guy has earned his name like a badge of honor.  He is a sweet 10-year-old pit bull mix who needs a loving home to live out his twilight years.  He may be a bit older, but that just means he is smarter and wiser.   He is ready to be your friend, couch-mate and enjoy leisurely walks with you.  He may romp like a puppy on occasion but not all the time, which is something you'll appreciate after a long day.

Spark is 3-year-old big bloodhound/German shepherd mix who came from an overcrowded animal shelter in the Inland Empire that asked the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center for help.

Shortly after arriving at our shelter, Spark was diagnosed with an extremely uncomfortable condition known as Entropion - it's when your eyelashes roll into your eyes.  So, the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) stepped up and paid for the surgery that fixed the condition. Today, Spark is a whole new dog - clear vision and all.

In honor of this week’s designation as National Poison Prevention week, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is alerting pet owners of some common household items that can pose a risk to their furry family members.

Kelsey and Cookie’s people unfortunately lost their home, so now these two sweet sisters are homeless.

Luckily, their owners thought enough about their safety to bring them to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, where they are waiting to find another loving home to call their own.

Meet Bennie, the lovable, cuddly and handsome 5-year-old Staffordshire terrier.

Bennie loves to please—he’ll listen to commands and will sit and shake politely. He enjoys long walks, running around our play yards when feeling energetic and cuddling once he is tired. Bennie has a good blend of affection and loyalty making him an ideal family dog for any family willing to giving him stability and consistency.

The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is expecting several litters of kittens to come through its doors anytime now. Because of this, the center needs foster parents who can care for the kittens until they are old enough to be adopted.

Kittens arrive at the shelter as tiny as just a few days old, needing to be bottle fed, all the way up to 8 weeks old. Learn about the foster program and how you can help homeless kittens in our community by attending a special Kitten Shower at 2 p.m. on March 3 at 28095 Hillcrest.

Peyton is a large and handsome 3-year-old tabby. His has classic tabby coloring with bold, swirling patterns along his sides — much like a marble cake. His pale green eyes are luminous and piercing.
