If you want to get hitched on Valentine’s Day, listen up: The Orange County Clerk-Recorder’s Department on February 14 is offering extended hours at its facilities including nearby Laguna Hills. The department at 24031 El Toro Road, Suite 150 will stay open until 5:30 pm to issue marriage licenses and perform ceremonies on the most romantic day of the year.

Meet Olympian Kaitlin Sandeno Hogan and support local swimmers and divers during the Mission Viejo Nadadores Foundation's Annual Fall Soiree on Wednesday, September 25 at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club.

Benefiting the world-renowned Nadadores swimming and diving programs, the Fall Soiree begins at 6 pm with a VIP cocktail reception followed by dinner and a live auction starting at 7 pm.

Mission Viejo residents and businesses are invited to drop off their old paint for proper disposal at a free Paint Drop-Off Event on Saturday, September 14.

Our neighboring City of Rancho Santa Margarita is hosting the event with PaintCare from 8 am to noon in the parking lot at 22112 El Paseo.

Paint manufacturers created PaintCare to provide convenient places to recycle leftover paint - such as paint stores and drop-off events.

Mission Viejo Restaurant Week is designed to encourage you to explore our City’s rich culinary landscape while keeping your dining dollars local. You’ll enjoy fare from eateries like High Park Tap House; Sol Agave; Piccolino; Oggi's; PF Chang; Broken Yolk; Pub 32; California Pizza Kitchen; Delizie; and Antonucci (with many of these eco-friendly restaurants diverting their food waste).

The back-to-school season can be hectic for many parents and students, especially getting to and from school.  Since so many parents and kids arrive at school simultaneously, school zones often present a serious safety hazard for children. 

 With kids heading back to school this month, here are some school-zone safety tips from the Automobile Club of Southern California to help reduce traffic hazards in and around school zones: 

Work is nearly complete on summer street improvement projects designed to extend the life of City streets and aesthetically enhance the community.

In June, Public Works kicked off the Los Alisos Boulevard and Santa Margarita Parkway intersection improvements and pavement rehabilitation of Felipe Road (Marguerite to La Paz) and Olympiad Road (Jeronimo to Alicia), with the goal of having most of the work finished before school resumes.
