The City of Mission Viejo will begin early in-person voting Saturday, October 27 for the November 6 General Election. Mission Viejo is one of only eight Vote Center locations in Orange County.  Early Voting runs through Monday, November 5 in the Saddleback Room at City Hall.

Voter registration is up 62% since the 2016 Presidential and vote-by-mail ballot returns are 70% ahead of 2014 numbers. In anticipation of heavy voter volume before Election Day, the Registrar of Voters has streamlined the check-in process for Vote Centers and increased personnel.

The City is hosting a Shoe Drive to benefit the nonprofit American Soldier Network working to help people in need here and abroad.

Drop off your gently worn, used and new shoes in bins at the City's Recreation Centers, Norman P. Murray Community Center, Mission Viejo Library and City Hall through November 12.  

The American Soldier Network works to prevent suicide among our active military personnel and veterans. The donations will also help support micro-enterprise vendors in developing nations.

Get ready for a fun-filled Harvest Festival this Friday, October 19 at Viejo Elementary School.

The annual school fundraiser is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and boasts a bevy of games, train and pony rides, free inflatables, face painting, a silent auction, fun booths and much more.  

You and your family will enjoy more than 15 games - with most the cost of one $1 ticket. 

A spectacular Ballet Folklorico performance takes place at 5 p.m., and patrons will enjoy tacos, hot dogs and other food for purchase.

Get ready to kick up your heels at the Stratford Mission Viejo Country Fair on Friday, November 2.

This free fun-filled family event is from 4:30-8:30 p.m. in Stratford's Pioneer Park boasting dancing and country music by the Smith Band, game booths including a giant slide and bungee trampoline, face painting, a Hometown Market and more! Enjoy food for purchase from In-n-Out and others.

Here's something to sink your teeth into. Head to High Park Tap House on Wednesday, October 17 and 20% of your bill will go to the Mission Viejo Friends of the Arts.

Learn about our City's storied past this Saturday during a special Open House at the Heritage House designed to celebrate Mission Viejo's 30th anniversary of incorporation.

The Open House is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Melinda Park located at 28951 Melinda Road. 

The Community Services Commission will host its next meeting on November 20 after canceling its regularly scheduled meeting of October 16.

The Commission, which acts as an advisory body to the City Council, normally meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month in the Mission Viejo Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Parents and teachers are invited to a workshop designed to increase awareness of a public health crisis facing our country.

The "Youth Resilience Workshop" is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Western Youth Services (WYS) is teaming up with our City to teach parents, teachers and others about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study that is changing the way childhood stress and trauma is addressed.

Saddleback College is looking for five decades of alumni to participate in an on-field celebration during its homecoming football game September 29 at Mission Viejo High School. 

If you attended the college, simply stop by the alumni check-in table before the 6 p.m. kick-off.  The homecoming event is part of the college's 9-month celebration recognizing 50 years of serving the educational needs of south Orange County.  

The City of Mission Viejo is launching a food drive to help South County Outreach recover from a recent plumbing accident that damaged the organization's pantry and much of its food inventory.

During business hours, you can drop off canned and non-perishable food items in bins located at the Mission Viejo Library, Norman P. Murray Community Center and City Hall (through Oct. 5).
