Head to Terrace on the Green on Friday, December 3 at 5:30 pm for a special holiday happy hour featuring live music by popular Orange County guitarist and vocalist Russell Long.

Long plays '60s, '70s rock, folk, Americana and soul tunes.

Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tasty fare from the full happy hour menu will be available for purchase. Enjoy $1 off draft beer and $2 off pitchers of beer. There will also be a special puff pastry chicken pot pie appetizer for $13.

In an effort to provide resources to the community for all abilities, the Mission Viejo Diversity + Inclusion Task Force is compiling a list of athletic programs designed for people with disabilities. 

The Task Force, which consists of local volunteers working to promote diversity and inclusion within Mission Viejo, is seeking the public's help with adding programs to this brochure and sharing it with folks who may benefit from it.  

Santa Claus is coming to town on Sunday, November 28. Grab your kids, friends and neighbors and head to the Mission Viejo Civic Center Courtyard for this time-honored celebration that begins at 5 pm.

The fun includes holiday music for children by local band Sierra. Santa will arrive atop a fire engine around 6 pm and help usher in the holidays by turning on the spectacular lights in Mission Viejo.

Ten swimmers and divers with ties to the Mission Viejo Nadadores were listed on the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association's Top 100 Swimming/Diving ATHLETES OF THE CENTURY.

Carl Glassford, the graphic designer who created the City of Mission Viejo seal, passed away this week. He was 78.

An artist and former resident of Mission Viejo, Carl designed and drew the seal for the City, which officially incorporated as a contract city on March 31, 1988.

Save the date for Breakfast with Santa Sunday, December 12 at Oso Creek Golf Course. This inaugural holiday event takes place at 10 am (sold out) and 12:30 pm at 27601 Casta Del Sol.

Families will enjoy taking photos with St. Nick on a golf cart; decorating a gingerbread man cookie; making a holiday ornament as well as the talents of strolling carolers.

The delicious fare includes a special buffet for kids and adult buffet with omelet, carving and dessert stations. 

Cost is $59.95 for adults and $39.95 for kids ages 5-12. Children 4 and under are free.

Assembly Member Laurie Davies will give an update on the latest issues in the State during the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce's Community and Legislative Affairs meeting on Thursday, November 18.  

The free event, which is open to the public, is from 8 to 9:30 am in the City Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.   

Assembly Member Davies, who represents the 73rd district, will provide an update on happenings in Sacramento that affect Mission Viejo.

Terrace on the Green is open daily for breakfast (7-11 am), lunch (11 am-3 pm) and happy hour (3-7:30 pm).

With many families in South County continuing to struggle to make ends meet, the City has partnered with two local charities to host drive-through "Drop & Go" holiday food drives for families in need.
