Team USA captured 11 medals - three gold, three silver and five bronze - during the 4-day USA FINA Diving Grand Prix at Mission Viejo's Marguerite Aquatics Complex.

The competition, which ended today, was the first Grand Prix meet held in the United States in six years. The event resulted in U.S. divers earning first in two events, three second-place finishes and one third-place finish. More than 23 countries from across the globe competed in this South County city, synonymous for its rich Mission Viejo Nadadores' diving and swimming history.  

Saturday morning under clear blue skies and above deep blue water, athletes as graceful as swans practiced one by one and two by two perfecting their dives off the 45-foot dive tower at the Marguerite Aquatics Center.

Mission Viejo Community Services Manager Lydie Gutfeld was elected president of the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS), a nonprofit association of nearly 4,000 members. 

CPRS is a professional and public interest organization with 86 percent of parks and recreation agencies in California boasting members and 175 park and recreation agencies involved.  The society works to advance the park and recreation profession through education, networking, resources and advocacy.

Four Americans are among the divers qualifying for Saturday’s individual finals at the FINA Diving Grand Prix after preliminary and semifinal competition Thursday at Mission Viejo’s Marguerite Aquatics Complex.

Hailey Hernandez (Southlake, Texas) and Krysta Palmer (Carson City, Nevada) have advanced to Saturday’s women’s 3-meter finals, and David Dinsmore (New Albany, Ohio) and Brandon Loschiavo (Huntington Beach, Calif.) qualified for the men’s 10-meter final.

Elite divers from more than 20 countries around the world are competing in the 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix that runs through April 14 at Mission Viejo's Marguerite Aquatics Complex, 27474 Casta Del Sol.

"USA Diving is excited to host the FINA Grand Prix, which has returned to the United States for the first time in six years, providing world-class competition for elite divers from across the globe," said USA Diving High Performance Director Dan Laak. "Team USA is excited to showcase its talent at home while taking the next steps to prepare for Tokyo 2020 and beyond."

With two weeks until the FINA Diving Grand Prix returns to the United States for the first time in six years, the City of Mission Viejo is gearing up to host this prestigious event April 11-14.

The impressive roster features 25 divers, including three 2016 Olympians, 11 members of the 2018 World Cup squad and five 2018 Junior World Championships team members, who will represent the stars and stripes as they compete at the City's newly renovated Marguerite Aquatics Center. 

Tickets are available for the 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix April 11-14 at Mission Viejo's newly renovated Marguerite Aquatics Complex. The event will mark its first return to United States in six years. 

Each year, the FINA Diving Grand Prix invites international divers to compete in a series of nine meets and provides world-class competition in countries that have a strong tradition in diving. The United States last hosted a FINA Diving Grand Prix in May 2013 at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

The City of Mission Viejo is gearing up to host the Konrad Reuland Charity Tennis Tournament March 30- 31 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion. 

Konrad played football at Mission Viejo High School, graduated from Stanford University and played in the NFL for the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. He passed away from a brain aneurysm in 2016. An amazing young man in life and death. Through successful organ and tissue donations, Konrad helped save and improve the lives of more than 75 people.

Bring friends and family to our fun-filled "Flick n' Float" event on April 5 from 6-10 pm at the Sierra Recreation Center.

Hang poolside or jump in and enjoy watching the animated flick "Zootopia" starting at 7:30 pm. The event features music, games, crafts and a concession stand with snacks available for purchase. The water slide runs from 6-7 pm.

The Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team present this incredible invitational that includes a Novice, Junior, Senior and Masters Diving Meet this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The meet starts at 4 pm on Friday; and 9 am sharp on Saturday and Sunday.
