kiwanis club
The Kiwanis Club of Mission Viejo, working with the City of Mission Viejo's Marine Corps Adoption Committee, is supporting our troops this holiday season through the "See's for Soldiers" program.
Along with buying See's for family and friends, you can purchase a one-pound box of See's at two designated sites and have it shipped to Marines who are deployed overseas or stationed at Camp Pendleton. Thanks to the community's support, in the last eight years, the Kiwanis Club has sent 4,020 of these boxes to our Marines. (Note: This program is not available at See's retail stores.)
The Kiwanis Club of Mission Viejo recognized three Silverado High School students as part of its mission of fostering student achievement.
Principal David Gordon was on hand for the Kiwanis' ceremony Tuesday to highlight each student's accomplishments. The school selected the following students based on their character and achievements.
Lindsay Anderson was praised by Silverado's staff for obtaining her diploma despite already passing the California High School Proficiency Exam.
Nine students from three local high schools were recognized this week by the Kiwanis Club of Mission Viejo.
The following students were feted for displaying leadership, academic excellence and community volunteerism. The recognition is part of the Kiwanis Club's efforts to support and foster the education and success of local students.
