If you want to see elite swimmers from around the globe compete, head to Mission Viejo's Marguerite Aquatics Complex for the 2019 Masters Summer Nationals through Sunday.

More than 1,400 athletes (ranging in age from 18-97) including a few Olympians are competing in this event that has attracted folks from just about every state as well as countries like Italy, Japan, Brazil, Columbia and Canada.

Cheer on your favorite athletes and enjoy the vendor village, which includes a beer garden.

The 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix will return to the United States for the first time in six years April 11-14 at Mission Viejo's newly renovated Marguerite Aquatics Complex, USA Diving, the national governing body of diving, announced this week. 

If you enjoy swimming laps, listen up!  You can now make a splash at three City facilities thanks to the re-opening of the revamped Marguerite Aquatics Complex.

Along with Olympic-style pageantry, the event will give families the chance to enjoy the newly renovated pools with fun games, competitions and recreational swimming throughout the day.

"Continuing Mission Viejo's Olympic Tradition," the Marguerite Aquatics Complex will make a historic splash for its Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 7.

Ushering in a new chapter of our City's swimming and diving legacy, the event will give the community a chance to meet Olympians including Greg Louganis, Rowdy Gaines and our very own Brian Goodell. The celebration includes a diving demonstration, Nadadores' historical timeline and photo opportunities with and autographs from the Olympians.

While swimming on the Mission Viejo Nadadores Masters team in the 1970s, Margrit Graef remembers the friends she made and the privilege she felt by meeting future Olympians. It's still that way today, more than four decades later.

“Continuing Mission Viejo’s Olympic Tradition,” the Marguerite Aquatics Complex will usher in a new chapter of our City’s swimming and diving legacy. The Re-Opening Celebration will give the community a chance to meet past, present and future Olympians as well as enjoy synchronized diving and splash time. Families will enjoy an inflatable aquatic obstacle course, fun activities and tours.

In an effort to benefit the local environment, the City of Mission Viejo will reuse 2 million gallons of treated pool water from the Marguerite Aquatics Complex renovation project to irrigate its slopes, parks and medians.
