Jump-start your New Year’s resolution by purchasing a 1-month “Holiday Pass” to the Montanoso and Sierra Recreation and Fitness Centers and Marguerite and Felipe Tennis Centers.

The pass – which makes the perfect holiday gift – is available for single, couple and family memberships through January 31.  It’s is a great way for students, individuals and family members to experience our recreation and tennis centers for the first time.

With an excessive heat warning issued through Wednesday night, the City of Mission Viejo is encouraging residents to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. The Mission Viejo Library at 100 Civic Center; Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way; and Marguerite Tennis Pavilion at 27474 Casta Del Sol all serve as comfortable cooling centers for folks to beat the heat.

Tennis enthusiasts from across Southern California will flock to the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion October 26-28 for the first Girls’ Junior Tennis Classic – The Marguerite.

After several years without a female comparable tournament to Ojai, the oldest boys’ amateur tournament in the United States, The Marguerite will feature 32 singles and 16 doubles teams comprised of girls ages 14-19.

Tennis fans listen up! Don’t miss the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion’s “Spook-tacular” Halloween Mixer at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 22 at 27474 Casta Del Sol.

Sport your favorite costume for the chance to win a prize and enjoy a free tennis clinic during the social. (No partners required.) The social gives community members a chance to enjoy the facility, learn about our tennis programs and meet new people.

Four Mission Viejo City staffers are being credited with saving the life of a man who suffered a heart attack at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

On July 1, longtime City staffer Sam Cho was playing tennis with a 74-year-old member of the Tennis Pavilion when the man suddenly went into cardiac arrest. 

Residents of all ages are invited to enjoy a Concert on the Courts on Saturday, May 6 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

This fun and unique event from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. gives families and individuals the chance to dance and sing to great tunes pumped out by classic rock band “The Answer.”  This special event also features crafts, ping pong and food for purchase from gourmet food trucks The Cut and Stickaberry.

Drop by the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion through April 2 for the chance to place a bid on a fantastic item and support the American Cancer Society.

The silent auction comes just days before the City hosts its annual Rally For Life Doubles Tennis Tournament on April 2.

The spring 2017 Singles Flex League for 3.0 to 4.5 players begins April 2 at the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion, 27474 Casta Del Sol. 

Men and women 18 years and older are invited to take part in this popular program that pits competitive singles against each other in exciting 10 weeks of play. 

Each player will play nine matches during the regular season, with the top eight players in each division advancing to playoffs on week 10. The $28 league fee includes balls, prizes and a barbecue during finals.

As the City prepares for the upcoming holidays, the public should be aware of facility operating hours.

Mission Viejo City Hall will be closed Monday, December 26 through Monday, January 2.
