Residents should remember to seek immediate health care or call 9-1-1 if experiencing a medical emergency, County officials said today, emphasizing it’s safe to visit a hospital when in need.
“I want to assure Orange County residents that our hospitals are fully operational and that it is safe to seek emergency medical care for themselves and their loved ones,†said County Health Officer Dr. Nichole Quick.
Residents are invited to take the free “Stop the Bleed†classes Mission Hospital is hosting through November.
Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, this class teaches you proper bleeding-control techniques including how to use your hands, dressings and tourniquets to stop severe bleeding.

KNBC TV reporter Vikki Vargas was in Mission Viejo today filming a story about our City’s second “Stop the Bleeding†training. Our City is proactively working to expand the Stop the Bleed program through Mission Hospital’s Trauma Center to train, equip and empower school administrators, teachers, staff and community bystanders to stop active and life-threatening bleeding.

Residents are invited to participate in the annual Light Up a Life tree lighting celebration to honor and remember friends, loved ones or caregivers while supporting hospice and palliative care services at Mission Hospital.
The event is at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 3 at the Mission Conference Center located at 26726 Crown Valley Parkway.

The dedicated space is in the first alcove past the check-out desk. Each Mind Matters encourages people to start conversations, listen openly and support a loved one with mental health challenges.
