Animal Services

Hop over to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and adopt a lovable Guinea pig for a special price.

The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center's Valentine’s Day Guinea pig adoption promotion takes place the month of February. Thanks to the generosity of Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG), all Guinea pig adoption fees are only $10 for approved applicants.

Since being rescued last week by Mission Viejo Animal Services Officers after roaming the streets of Rancho Santa Margarita for three days with a muzzle, Robinson, AKA Robbie, is flourishing and adjusting to being spoiled.

This sweet young dog has been enjoying his toys and treats compliments of the community and a substantial donation of specialized dog food from Grandma Lucy’s.

A loose dog that had been muzzled and wandering the streets of Rancho Santa Margarita for three days was safely captured Wednesday by Mission Viejo Animal Services Officers.

After receiving reports of the German Shepherd mix spotted around Robinson Ranch Road, Mission Viejo Animal Services Officers immediately began tracking the young dog and set up traps before organizing an effort with all available Animal Services Officers to locate and safely capture the dog.

Mission Viejo Animal Services is providing additional patrols in the area of La Paz Road and Arbolitos after a mountain lion sighting early this morning.

While mountain lions have always roamed the wide green belts and creeks through southern Orange County, with the increase of technology and motion-sensor cameras, sightings have become much more prevalent. Mountain lions are generally extremely elusive animals and avoid contact with humans.

A young dog that was about to be euthanized by an overcrowded shelter in the Inland Empire has a new lease on life after being rescued through the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center’s “A Mission for Home Rescue” Program.

A 3-year-old boxer mix with an adorable underbite and striking brindle coat, Jazzy Jeff is now available for adoption.

The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is hosting a special “Home for the Holidays” adoption promotion.

The holidays are a great time to add a furry new friend to your household. As the City has reported, through December 23, DAWG is sponsoring all adoptions, so dogs, cats and rabbits will have a reduced adoption fee of $20. The adoption fee for Guinea pigs will be waived.
