In honor of May's designation as Mental Health Awareness Month, the City is providing information about free webinars that can help people deal with a multitude of issues.  

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Thursday, May 5 at Terrace on the Green from 3 to 7:30 pm. 

Mariachi Tierra Mia will play favorites and take requests from 5 to 7 pm. You can also savor special taco plates, margaritas, and enjoy Modelo beer pitchers for $2 off. 

Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Have fun and support GiGi's Playhouse Orange County at the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 5K Fun Run on Saturday, May 21 at the Norman P. Murray Center.

GiGi's Playhouse Orange County is a non-profit organization that offers free programs and tutoring for individuals with Down syndrome.

The City of Mission Viejo is sponsoring a Community Townhall meeting on Thursday, May 12 regarding sober living homes. 

Hosted by Mayor Wendy Bucknum, the townhall will include representatives from the offices of Senator Patricia Bates, Assemblywoman Laurie Davies and the Orange County Sheriff's Department discussing current and proposed regulations at the County, State and federal level for these types of homes. 

If you are looking for a new job or to hone your skills, then mark your calendar for two upcoming job fairs in the region.  

First up is the North Orange County Job Fair hosted by Saddleback Church and the Santa Ana Elks Club from 10 am to 2 pm at 1751 S Lyon St. in Santa Ana on May 12.  

The City will pay homage to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country during its Memorial Day ceremony at 8:30 am on Monday, May 30 in The Kershaw Gardens at 200 Civic Center.

The ceremony will include guest speakers Colonel Seth W.B Folsom, Commanding Officer of Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division; and Brigadier General Peter B. Cross, United States Army, Retired; along with a color guard, rifle salute, live vocal performance and taps.  

The City Council on Tuesday, April 26 will receive an update about affordable housing in the region and will consider a request to host a triathlon next month, among other business. 

The Orange County Housing Finance Trust, which provides assistance for affordable and permanent supportive housing, will provide an update about the region.  

To celebrate Earth Day, Metrolink will provide free rides all day on Friday, April 22. Riders can board a Metrolink train at any station throughout the six-county area for transportation wherever Metrolink trains travel.

Riders who visit Metrolink's website can also take the pledge to reduce their carbon footprint and ride the train in April for a chance to win a free monthly pass.

Bring your friends and family to Terrace on the Green on Friday, April 29 at 5:30 pm for a special happy hour featuring live music by George Butts playing jazz on saxophone. George is known for his warm soulful style and energetic personality. Performing around the world with top recording artists, George has captured the hearts of audiences across the world.

Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  A new, tasty appetizer menu will also be available for purchase.
