Community Relations

As part of an ongoing effort to keep children safe, the Secure OC Schools coalition is hosting a meeting on October 7 from 9 am to 11:30 am in the Saddleback Room at 200 Civic Center.

Parents of school children are invited to learn about a new safety app that is available in schools throughout the City as well as "Stop the Bleed" kits that are now in our middle and high schools.  The meeting will also include a demonstration of training that is available from SAFE Kids.

The City of Mission Viejo is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, Sept 16.

The blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at the Mission Viejo Civic Center at 200 Civic Center.

To schedule an appointment, visit http://www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: COMV. Walk-ins are welcome, too.

Since every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, the Red Cross is always in need of blood. One donation can essentially save up to three lives, according the organization.

Part of an ongoing effort to prevent drug abuse, the City's Community of Character Committee and Mission Viejo Drug Prevention Coalition are hosting a Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Expo on October 16.

For parents and teens 14 and older, the free event dubbed - "Is it Worth it?" - is from 6-8 pm at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
