The City Council on Tuesday approved contracts that would provide more safety measures for pedestrians and continued homeless outreach services in the community, among other business.  

Mission Viejo is kicking off Oktoberfest with the free monthly Night Market this Saturday, September 16 from 5-9 pm at the North Paseo, 25282 Marguerite Parkway.

The City Council on Tuesday, September 12 will consider an item to continue the City’s efforts to attract athletes and teams from around the globe to Mission Viejo, which would enhance economic development, as well a contract that would provide more safety measures for pedestrians, among other business.  

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. 

Mission Viejo embarked on the redevelopment of the former Stein Mart building and parcel, which was purchased in December 2021. The City has been working on the conceptual development and preliminary design for the LOS OSOS project for the past 18 months. To obtain viable and valuable public input from our community, the City hosted five public input meetings and numerous public events.

The City Council on Tuesday recognized an Animal Services Officer for saving the life of a child along with outstanding Marines and a youth baseball team, among other business including approving a new triathlon in Mission Viejo.  

Tropical Storm Hilary is expected to bring heavy rain and wind to our area this weekend through Monday.

The free monthly Night Market returns this Saturday, August 19 from 5-9 pm at the North Paseo, 25282 Marguerite Parkway.

This Night Market boasts an “Under the Sea” theme with live mermaids and a mermaid scavenger hunt from 5:30 to 7:30 pm (prizes will be awarded while supplies last). You can also enjoy live music by Power On, crafts, photo opportunities, food vendors, a free bubble play area, and community display about the Core Area Vision. Beer will be available for purchase from Tap Truck OC.

Sideways is a classic rock band with songs ranging from classic rock and dance, to country, pop and funk. This high-energy band is full of entertainment!

Cocktails and a music night food menu will be available for purchase in this outdoor garden-vibe setting. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
