Public Works

Paving work along stretches of Santa Margarita Parkway takes place through Monday, resulting in lane closures and traffic delays. This street-improvement project, which began today, will help extend the life of the busy arterial street.

Residents of the City of Mission Viejo will soon be able to recycle their food scraps and yard/green waste together! Starting January 1, 2022, residents should begin placing food scraps, such as fruit and vegetable trimmings, eggshells, pasta, grains, coffee grounds, leftover inedible food, and expired food, along with their garden trimmings into the green-lidded container provided by the City's waste hauler, Waste Management of Orange County. The materials will be collected on the same day as your trash and recycling containers, and they will be brought to a facility to be composted.
