Get ready to move, groove, hula and destress in a host of new In-Person Outdoor Programming kicking off in May.  

Registration is available today at https://cityofmissionviejo.org/register for the following fun-filled classes. 

The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center will reopen to the public on Monday May 3.

The building will be open from 8:30 am to noon Monday through Friday and 5 to 9 pm Tuesday and Thursday. Some senior programming will be offered during daytime hours. For a list of indoor classes, check out the current Murray Memo.

Part of an ongoing effort to help people in our community, the City of Mission Viejo is hosting its next drive-through food drive from 9 to 11 am on Saturday, April 17 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Get ready to test your knowledge to win prizes and forever bragging rights during Parking Lot Trivia this Friday, April 16 in the Norman P. Murray Center parking lot.  

The socially distant fun-filled event takes place from 10 to 11 am and focuses on trivia from the 1970s and '80s. Participants will remain in their cars while enjoying trivia and "Name that Tune."  Winners will receive prizes.  

With the County moving to a less-restrictive tier and our continuous efforts to provide services while keeping you safe, the City has reopened the indoor gym at the Sierra Recreation and Fitness Center at 10% capacity. The Montanoso Recreation Center gym will remain outdoors, so we can operate at a higher capacity. Both gyms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis - allowing members to have a 1-hour workout time. The City is also working to increase programming and hours of operation at Montanoso, Sierra and Felipe this month. 

Mark your calendar for April 19 when registration kicks off for the popular Summer Kids Factory.

Kids Factory is a fun and friendly drop-in recreation program offering supervised recreational activities designed for elementary children entering 1-6 grades. Kids enjoy arts and crafts, games, sports, special event days, and much more. Add this program to your child's summer schedule. The program is available June 14 through August 13 for $125 per child.

The food drive will benefit the nonprofit Families Forward, which helps families in need achieve self-sufficiency through housing, food, counseling and other services.

With the pandemic impacting many seniors this year, staff members at the Norman P. Murray Community Center are serving up St. Patrick's Day cheer by hosting a special drive-through "Shamrocks for our Seniors" event on March 11.

With the pandemic impacting many seniors this year, staff members at the Norman P. Murray Community Center are serving up St. Patrick's Day cheer by hosting a special drive-through "Shamrocks for our Seniors" event on March 11.

Sponsored by Monarch Health, the event is designed to show appreciation for the folks the center serves. Seniors 55+ are invited to drive-up and receive a free St. Patrick's Day mug and golden green treat from 11 am to noon in the community center's parking lot. COVID-19 safety procedures will be in place.
