election

The City of Mission Viejo is one of a handful of Orange County cities that will serve as an Early Voting Center for the upcoming Election Day, providing registered voters the chance to cast their ballots early – even on weekends.

The Orange County Registrar of Voters is set to begin early in-person voting for the state’s June 5 Primary Election in Mission Viejo and four other static locations in the county. These convenient Vote Centers, which also includes a pop-up mobile voting site, will operate May 26 through June 4.

With the countdown underway until California’s June 5 primary election, the Orange County Registrar of Voters is recruiting hundreds of poll workers throughout the county to work on Election Day.

Orange County residents are sought to serve as inspectors and clerks from 6 a.m. to around 9:30 p.m. that day. To participate, you must be registered to vote in the state of California or a legal permanent resident.

Mission Viejo voters elected Trish Kelley and Brian Goodell into office Tuesday, according to the “unofficial” results from the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

When sworn in on December 13, the City Council candidates will fill the seats of Council Member Cathy Schlicht and Mayor Frank Ury. Council Member Schlicht lost her bid for re-election, while Mayor Ury terms out this year.
