Enjoy a free screening of the animated film "Encanto" on Saturday, February 19 at 6:30 pm at Oso Creek Golf Course, 27601 Casta Del Sol.

Nachos, hot dogs, gourmet sausages, popcorn, candy and hot chocolate will be available for purchase. No outside food is allowed.

The movie starts at 7 pm on the green, and reservations are required. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Heaters will be available to keep you warm and cozy.

A new walk-up COVID-19 Testing Clinic is now open in the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center parking lot.

Operated by Covid Clinic, testing is open from 7 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday at 24932 Veterans Way.

Terrace on the Green is open daily for breakfast (7-11 am), lunch (11 am-3 pm) and Happy Hour (3-7:30 pm).

Landis Sims was 9 years old when he first visited Mission Viejo as part of the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team Kids Camp. He was born without hands and parts of his lower extremity. However, that never slowed Landis down. 

While playing with the softball team, his infectious energy and love of the game earned him many new friends as well as an interview on Mission Viejo Television's "Coach's Corner with Paul Higgins."

Mission Viejo Lions Club Chapter is now collecting used prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center. The glasses are recycled, cleaned, measured and catalogued by California Lions Friends in Sight, and the glasses in good condition are distributed during vision screenings at community health fairs.

Glasses can be dropped off in the drop box located inside the lobby of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis - its worst blood shortage in more than a decade - and is asking the public's help to help prevent further delays in vital medical treatments. 

Blood and platelet donations are critically needed, and donors of all blood types - especially type O − are urged to make an appointment now to give in the weeks ahead.

In Kronick-Gath v. City Council for The City of Mission Viejo 21-1201428, the Court issued tentative and final rulings which found the City of Mission Viejo complied with the letter and intent of the Brown Act as it relates to all six causes of actions brought against it by the petitioner.

During the City Council's first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Mayor Wendy Bucknum presented her sentiments and goals for 2022.

The County of Orange is seeking residents to volunteer for its 2022 Point In Time homeless count in South County on February 24. 

The biennial Point In Time homeless count will provide the County with updated numbers and demographics on the homeless population to help guide its response to the growing issue.
