The County of Orange is offering rental households up to $10,000 in financial assistance for unpaid rent or utility bills due to the impact of COVID-19 as part of its Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

Applications are available until February 28. Certain income criteria applies (see this flier), and eligible expenses include unpaid rent or utility bills due to the coronavirus (not future rent or utility costs). Landlords can also encourage tenants to apply.

Oso Creek Golf Course patio will reopen on Monday, February 1 with a new grab-and-go menu and beverages for patrons served from 7 am to 7 pm.

Coming soon is our official dining experience "Terrace On The Green," which is set to open for breakfast and lunch in early spring featuring an elevated casual outdoor-indoor dining experience. Chef Thomas Ramirez is crafting a seasonal menu boasting distinctive and beautifully prepared menu items.

With the State's lift on the Regional Stay-at-Home and curfew orders today, outdoor dining, hair salons and barbershops can resume immediately with modifications.

The State's action allows counties to return to the rules and framework of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy and puts the County back in the Purple Tier.

The Orange County Health Care Agency's (HCA) regional COVID-19 Vaccine Super Point of Dispensing (POD) site will open at 8 am on Saturday, January 23 at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.

Orange County is working to make the COVID-19 vaccination available; however, the County faces ongoing supply limitations. The Health Care Agency continues to request more doses from the State, officials said in a press release. 

Since the pandemic has taken a toll on everyone differently, the City has compiled some resources that help people focus on how to cope with stress for a healthier mental state.

The City of Mission Viejo is now accepting applications for its annual Community Services Funding Program.  Funds are available for nonprofit organizations serving Mission Viejo residents with a focus on agencies providing human services. Information, guidelines and electronic fillable forms are available online.

The Oso Creek Golf Course will launch a new "Resident Program" beginning Monday, January 18.

The City Council on Tuesday unanimously appointed 16 residents to serve on the City's Planning and Transportation Commission, Community Services Commission and Investment Advisory Commission.  

The commissions, except the seven-member Community Services Commission, are comprised of five members appointed by the City Council for 2-year terms.   

The appointments include: 

Residents 65 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with an appointment through the County of Orange's vaccine and management app.

According to the County, the success of its phased, tiered vaccination plan depends on everyone being patient and allowing priority groups to be vaccinated first.
