Acoustic Eidolon, a popular musical duo consisting of Joe Scott on double-neck “guitjo” and Hannah Alkire on cello, will perform in Mission Viejo on March 24 as part of the Lord of the Strings Concert Series.

This free Star Wars Trivia program is from noon to 2 p.m. in the City Hall Saddleback Room, just across from the library at 200 Civic Center.

The City Council on Tuesday, November 28 will host the second of five public hearings to discuss the City's interest in and the process for transitioning from at-large to district-based council member elections.

Jolly old St. Nick is gearing up for his spectacular arrival at the Mission Viejo Civic Center on Sunday, November 26. The fun-filled celebration, which caters to folks of all ages, begins at 3 p.m. at 200 Civic Center.  Youngsters will enjoy craft projects, games and strolling Dickens Carolers spreading holiday cheer.

Don't miss the 2nd annual Adult Spelling Bee this Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at 200 Civic Center, just across from the library.  Doors open at 5 p.m. 

A brass quintet will entertain folks before and after the event, and guests will be treated to a reception in the Kershaw Garden following the spelling bee. 

Guitar guru and composer Adam Rafferty will take the Mission Viejo stage for the next Lord of the Strings concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 24.

Rafferty is well known as a jazz and funky fingerstyle guitarist; perhaps you’ve heard his acclaimed solo guitar album of Michael Jackson songs, “I Remember Michael.” Very cool, indeed.

The community is invited to commemorate Memorial Day during a special ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 29 at the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center.

Marine Corps Colonel Andrew Bergen will serve as the keynote speaker, discussing the importance of remembering the people who died while serving in our country's armed forces. He will be joined by Vietnam veteran Frans VandenBroek, a Purple Heart recipient and local resident. 

As part of an ongoing effort to offer an array of services and programs, the Mission Viejo Library is hosting a series of free workshops for college-bound individuals.

The free 2-hour workshops, geared toward high school sophomores, juniors and others, focus on personality and choice of majors along with other college important considerations folks may not have considered.

Drum roll please … the countdown is underway for the return of jolly St. Nick to the Mission Viejo Civic Center on Sunday, November 27.

This fun-filled celebration begins at 3 p.m. with craft projects, games and holiday stories for children. Strolling Dickens Carolers will embrace the holiday spirit and delectable snacks and goodies will be available for purchase in Celebration Café area.
