Mission Viejo

A teenage mentoring program that teaches local youth about avoiding bullying and other social trends takes place Saturday, May 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the City Hall Saddleback Room at 200 Civic Center.

The "Teen Survival Guide" is designed to equip 8th grade students with knowledge and tools for surviving high school and overcoming life's challenges. The program is led by the Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee.

As you prepare to proudly display your American flag for Memorial Day, now is the time to properly retire a flag you may discover is torn or tattered.

Seminar will be rescheduled.

In an effort to foster character-based leadership skills in local teens, the Mission Viejo Community of Character is sponsoring the free "Pyramid of Success" seminar from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 27.

Developed by John R. Wooden, dubbed the greatest coach in the history of sports and a recipient of the Medal of Freedom, the "Pyramid of Success" has positively influenced leaders from all walks of life.

Children are invited to tap their creative sides on Saturday, May 6 in the free "Learn to Draw Cartoons" workshop.
