Mission Viejo Television (MVTV) is now airing its three-part special series featuring the incredible marching band programs at our local high schools.

The three 30-minute segments capture the incredible marching bands from Trabuco Hills High School; Mission Viejo High School and Capistrano Valley High School.

Have you heard of the City's Housing Rehabilitation Program? This longtime program helps folks with low to moderate incomes improve their living conditions and extend the life of their homes.
 
Through the program, Mission Viejo residents can make heating, plumbing and driveway repairs. They can install new roofs, add a new coat of exterior paint to improve the home's appearance, replace windows and doors and make energy-conservation repairs, among others.

Save the date for Saturday, March 25 when the inaugural Working Wardrobes' VetNet 5K Walk and Fun Run takes step in Mission Viejo along the picturesque Oso Creek Trail.

Working Wardrobes is an Orange County-based nonprofit that for over two decades has helped more than 70,000 men and women - and many veterans - overcome such challenges as alcohol and drug abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.

Are you ready for a laugh-out-loud night full of slapstick comedy? Then make plans for the Modjeska Unscripted Classics at 7 p.m. on February 11 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.

Presented by the Modjeska Playhouse, this hilarious evening is a completely improvised play in the style of a screwball comedy. This genre became popular during the Great Depression, originating in the early 1930s.

Are you ready to frolic in the snow this Saturday?  A few pre-sale tickets are still available for the Sierra Snow Summit from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. January 28 at the Sierra Recreation Center.
 
The center's spa will be transformed into a mini winter wonderland as part of a family-friendly event featuring the insane Polar Bear Plunge.  Friday is the last day to purchase the pre-sale tickets that include winter activities and concessions.

As part of an ongoing effort to educate residents in emergency preparedness, the City of Mission Viejo is offering detailed information through the Emergency Survival Program (ESP).  This guide features monthly topics, historical information and what you can do now to prepare. January's focus is on earthquakes and terrorist attacks.

Relax your body and mind for a good cause through the 5-part yoga series benefitting Relay For Life of Mission Viejo.

The "Yoga for Self-Care" program takes place on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. January 22, February 12, March 12, April 9 and May 14 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Ethan Taylor of Boy Scout Troop #768 is in line to obtain the Eagle Scout ranking after completing a planting project at El Dorado Park.

Ethan recently led 43 volunteers in planting 800 one-gallon drought-tolerant plants for his landscape beautification and water conservation project at this park off Carrillo Drive.
