The City of Mission Viejo is gearing up to host its annual Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

The Community Health Fair features something for all ages including a host of free screenings – glucose; blood pressure; chiropractic; spinal; developmental screening for kids under 6; fitness assessments; and bone scans.

Children will enjoy a “kids’ zone” with multiple games, and free “swag” bags will be handed out while supplies last. 

The spring season of youth sports groups kicks off this month with several opening day ceremonies on tap – including the golden anniversary celebration of South Mission Viejo Little League.

For that 50th milestone anniversary, South Mission Viejo Little League will host players from the 1997 Little League National Championship team for a special commemoration. The opening ceremony is at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at Youth Athletic Park.

Parents listen up:  If you are seeking a night out on the town, then take advantage of Parents’ Night Out on Friday, February 10.

In honor of Valentine's Day, the Montanoso Recreation Center is hosting an evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for kids that includes games, arts and crafts and a movie and pizza dinner. 

The event is open to kids ages 5-10 and features super-sized Jenga and tons of fun. Spaces will fill up quick, so don't delay in registering your kids today.

If you’re a teenager interested in having fun and making new friends, then listen up. Several exciting events are in the works just for you.

High School Teen Scene Friday, Feb. 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Are you ready for a laugh-out-loud night full of slapstick comedy? Then make plans for the Modjeska Unscripted Classics at 7 p.m. on February 11 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.

Presented by the Modjeska Playhouse, this hilarious evening is a completely improvised play in the style of a screwball comedy. This genre became popular during the Great Depression, originating in the early 1930s.

Are you ready to frolic in the snow this Saturday?  A few pre-sale tickets are still available for the Sierra Snow Summit from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. January 28 at the Sierra Recreation Center.
 
The center's spa will be transformed into a mini winter wonderland as part of a family-friendly event featuring the insane Polar Bear Plunge.  Friday is the last day to purchase the pre-sale tickets that include winter activities and concessions.
 

Relax your body and mind for a good cause through the 5-part yoga series benefitting Relay For Life of Mission Viejo.

The "Yoga for Self-Care" program takes place on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. January 22, February 12, March 12, April 9 and May 14 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
