Beginning July 1, replacement tags are available for $8
Mission Viejo Animal Services teamed with PetHub to offer furry four-legged family members a next-generation pet license ID tag. The new modern tag with a QR code is made of epoxy-coated aluminum, which makes it much more durable than the former license tag. In addition to increased durability, the QR code on the tag links to an optional FREE online pet profile with 24/7 access to the lost/found pet call center. Pet owners can create and update a pet’s profile at any time for free at PetHub.com. If a pet wearing the new PetHub license tag is lost, anyone who finds the pet can use a smartphone camera to scan the QR code on the back of the tag, view the owner contact information in the profile, and immediately contact the owner. Profile accounts are safe and secure because pet owners’ control and modify what contact information is in their pet’s profile. If the finder does not have a smartphone or know how to scan a QR code, the finder can call the number on the tag to connect with PetHub’s 24/7 call center. The new tag is issued with all newly licensed dogs or cats, and beginning July 1, replacement tags are available for $8. Mission Viejo Animal Services remains committed to providing the highest quality of services possible and is happy to bring these new, durable and modern pet license tags to our community.
