Featured Pet - Dashing Roscoe

Roscoe is one of our “Mission for A Home” dogs that was rescued on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. He had been at an overcrowded Riverside County shelter for over a month, so his time had run out and he was “red-listed.”

Animal Services staff saw his photo in an email asking for help and immediately responded to pick him up. Thanks to funding from the shelter's nonprofit DAWG, Mission Viejo Animal Services can transfer pets from high kill shelters and save their lives. Roscoe has now been at the center for more than two months, and although he is perfectly safe, it is time that he transitions from shelter life to a loving home of his own. Roscoe is a 10-month-old Border Collie mix that is high energy and always on the go. He would thrive in an active house where there is always something happening.  He also needs to learn some basic manners, so he will go home with a free training package compliments of DAWG. Roscoe gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine brother or sister to play with.
