For the Love of Bunnies - A collaborative effort for animal welfare
Mission Viejo Animal Services (MVAS) recently rescued four rabbits from the South East Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) because amazing volunteers Thomas and Beata informed us the animal could be in danger. Many rabbits were dumped at one of SEAACA's area parks, and because that shelter was already full of rabbits, its staff sent out a pea for help. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for people to release their pet bunnies in parks if they can longer care for them. Besides being illegal, domestic rabbits are completely unable to survive in the wild, so this should never be an option. Fortunately, thanks to our Mission for Home Rescue Program, MVAS was able to transfer the rabbits to our shelter. The program, which is sponsored by DAWG, rescues all types of animals in need including rabbits. These four rabbits will be spay/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All will be available for adoption soon. MVAS and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are sponsoring adoption fees for all rabbits through the month of February for approved applicants.
