Meet Giselle Leal-Pelayo
Meet Volunteer Coordinator Giselle Leal-Pelayo! Since she was a small child, Giselle has had a deep love and passion for all things concerning animals. This passion led her to pursue a career in the animal welfare field. Giselle started working at the center 15 years ago as an Animal Services Representative, manning a very busy front desk, and she quickly moved into her current position. She has been an integral part of the center's growth, transition, and innovative programming. She currently oversees the center's robust volunteer program with more than 170 volunteers helping homeless animals and participating in various community outreach programs. In 2019, Giselle was selected as the City of Mission Viejo's Employee of the Year! When not at work, Giselle enjoys camping and traveling in her RV with her husband, their two kids, and their Elmo and Teddy who are center Alumni. Stop by the center and say "hello" to Giselle next time you are in the area!
