Mission Viejo Animal Services goes digital!

Mission Viejo Animal Services is teaming up with PetHub to offer furry four-legged family members a next-generation pet license ID tag. All new dogs and cats that are licensed with Mission Viejo Animal Services will receive a smart digital license tag. A QR code on the tag with a pet license number links to an optional online pet profile with free 24/7 access to the lost/found pet call center.  Pet owners can create and update a pet's profile at any time for free at PetHub.com, which allows the pet owner to list emergency contact information including spouses, family, or friends. If a pet gets lost and someone finds it wearing a PetHub license tag, the finder can use a smartphone camera to scan the QR code on the back of the tag, view the owner's contact information in the profile, and immediately contact the owner or alternate contact for the pet 24/7.

Profile accounts are safe and secure because the pet owner controls and modifies what contact information is in the pet's profile. If the finder does not have a smartphone or know how to scan a QR code, the finder can call the number on the tag which will connect them to PetHub's 24/7 call center. If the tag is not registered with PetHub, the finder will be instructed to contact the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
