Rescue Roundup

Through our Mission for Home Rescue Program, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center in January saved a young German Shephard from being euthanized by a crowded shelter in the Inland Empire. Our staff named her Twinkie and discovered she was a friendly and active dog that we suspected would do well with a busy family. Twinkie’s forever family members arrived in April, and we believe Twinkie was waiting for them because they were the perfect fit.

Here is an update from the adopters who changed her name to Honey Love:

Honey is our rescue dog with a heart of gold. When we first brought her home, Honey was timid and unsure of herself. But as the days passed, she began to come out of her shell and showed her true colors.  It quickly became clear to us Honey was a smart dog with a lot of potential. We began working to train her, and Honey took to it like a fish to water. She quickly mastered basic commands like sit, stay, come, lay down, shake, and jump. Honey has been such an immense joy since the first day she joined our family. She is fiercely loyal, energetic, great with our kids, loving and incredibly smart. Her favorite things are going to Chick-fil-A for her grilled nuggets, visiting Starbucks for her pup cup, resting on the couch, playing fetch, going to the dog park, and taking Sunday hikes with our family.

We encourage anyone looking for a dog to consider rescuing. Our family had the best experience going through the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and only wanted the best home for Honey. We are forever grateful for finding our newest family member there.

Everyone at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is thrilled this sweet pup found a great home!
