Meet Our Team - Brynn Lavison
Meet Brynn Lavison, our Animal Care Supervisor.
Brynn has been working at our center for more than 20 years. She began as a licensing representative in 2000 before being promoted to supervisor. She left Mission Viejo briefly in 2004 to accept the supervisor position at the San Clemente Animal Shelter but returned to Mission Viejo a couple years later. She has been with us for so long because she loves it and can't imagine working anywhere else.
Brynn grew up in San Marino in a family that always had multiple pets. At one point in her childhood, she had four dogs, a cat, parakeet, tortoise and two ducks and two rabbits. After high school, with the intention of becoming an attorney, Brynn attended University of California, Santa Barbara and majored in environmental studies with a law emphasis. However, law was not what she anticipated, so she decided to look for a job while contemplating her future. Since Brynn always loved animals, she accepted a job at a veterinary practice in Pasadena. She stayed there for eight years working with an amazing veterinarian who mentored her in all aspects of animal medicine and care.
During that time, she met and got engaged to her husband and moved to Orange County.
When not working, Brynn enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Louis and their dog Koa. She loves to travel, especially to places where she can engage in her passion of scuba diving.
Brynn's favorite things about her job are rescuing animals from other shelters to find them great homes and working with people who share her love for animals.
"It has been such an honor to be able to do what I love for so long," she said. "I have met countless amazing adopters and animal lovers and feel truly lucky to have developed friendships with many of them."
