Volunteer of the Month - Nancy Legault
Congratulations to Nancy Legault, our August 2022 volunteer of the month. Nancy started volunteering with us as a greeter last November.
She has excelled in this position, greeting, and directing every visitor who comes through our front gate. Nancy has also volunteered for center events and is constantly willing to go above and beyond her regular duties.
Nancy adopted her dog Ginger from our shelter last year. Ginger was a rescue from the Riverside Animal Shelter, and Nancy said at that time of adoption, she was afraid humans. However, with lots of love, Ginger has changed over the years. Nancy started volunteering at the center because of her love for animals, and she knew volunteering is what she wanted to do when she retired.
"All the shelter employees and volunteers do such great work finding the animals forever homes, and everyone at the shelter cares so much for the animals and each other," she said. "I feel extremely lucky to be able to have the opportunity to volunteer in such a beautiful and peaceful facility with such great people."
When not at the shelter, Nancy loves taking Ginger for car rides to the beach; spending time with friends; making dog treats; baking; crocheting - and most of all - spending time with her son and daughter-in-law.
Thank you, Nancy, for your dedication to our center and homeless animals!
