Adoption Spotlight - Halo the Husky
Halo, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky, came to our shelter in May as a confiscated animal that was homeless with someone who could not properly care for him. At 23 pounds, he was literally skin and bones when he was impounded.
Our officers immediately attempted to locate the individual who allowed Halo to get to this poor state, but unfortunately, they could not locate the owner. Over the next four months, we provided Halo with all the care he needed. We fed him four times a day and weighed him daily, and he steadily gained weight, but he did have some gastrointestinal issues that slowed his progress. Thankfully, DAWG was available to pay for extensive testing to rule out anything serious. It seems Halo just did not like living in a kennel. Fortunately, his forever family finally found him, and he was adopted in September. Staff and volunteers loved Halo while he was with us, and we are thrilled that he has a loving, forever home.
