American Cancer Society Paddle for the Battle Charity Pickleball Fundraiser

Saturday August 24 | Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center

Join us for a 1 day doubles tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Help fund rides for patients to and from treatment appointments, provide services to families with loved ones battling cancer, fund research to find the cure, and play pickleball!

Please note this event is a Non-Refundable Charity Event.
100% of your entry fee is tax deductible.
Players will receive a charitable receipt at check in for their donation.
Players can swap out partners prior to the event for injuries but event fees will not be refunded in the event a player cannot participate.

Space is LIMITED to 16 teams per division: $100 PER TEAM.

Organized Play

Join us at Felipe for our social pickleball play groups. Get a new group of players each week for round-robin matches. Scores won't be tracked in these friendly games, but balls are provided. Up to five players will be assigned to each court for weekly round-robin play. Cost is $15 for members; $55-$65 for Mission Viejo Residents; $75-$90 Non-Residents effective August 1.

Note: This is not an instructional period but rather skilled matched play. All players should know how to play pickleball before registering. All players must know how to serve and score consistently and correctly prior to the start of each session.

Players can only register for TWO Adjacent skill Levels.

Levels that offer a range such as 2.5-3.0, 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0 are designed for players who are not quite challenged at the lower level advertised but find the upper level listed too challenging. If you are a 3.0 player, you could register for 3.0 Organized Play or 3.0 - 3.5 Organized play if your looking for a challenge. A 3.0 player would not be permitted to register for a lower level program (2.5 - 3.0, or 2.5) or an upper level programs (3.5, or 3.5-4.0). These guidelines help us keep advanced players from taking spaces away from intermediate players, and intermediate players from registering in levels they are not ready to play at to keep our advanced programs for advanced players.

Pickleball Leagues

Singles Ladder Leagues

Challenge other club members to a competitive single matches in our Singles Ladder League. Games are first to 11, win by 2, with the best 3/5 games taking the win. Players simply contact another player on the ladder and book a court based on player availability. If the lower ranked player beats the upper level player, they take their rank and knock them down one space on the ladder! Players will be provided a match score card and a basket of balls at check in, and staff will update the ladder after scores are turned in. Players must play 1 match every 15 days or they will be automatically knocked down one space on the ladder.

Non-members are subject to guest fees upon check in.

Registration will remain open until each ladder reaches the maximum of 16 players.

Ladder divisions are co-ed singles. Each players starting position on the ladder is based by registration number, so the first to register will start in the number 1 space on the ladder.
Challenge matches follow a "bump" style format. If you challenge up and beat your opponent you will take their spot and they will go down one spot. If the lower ranked challenger loses, both players remain where they are.

Evening 10-Week Pickleball Leagues

Individual scores during the season determine the champion in each league division. Prizes include monthly membership, visors, hats, and more. Cost is $45 for members; $125 non-members (if space be available). Please note: Players can only register for ONE LEAGUE due to program popularity. Please note the following league levels:

General Information

Drop-in Play

Monday - Sunday (7 days a week) | 7:15 - 9:30 am
Monday / Wednesday / Friday | 5 - 6:30 pm

Show up and grab a game, no reservations required. Drop-in play is free for members. Guests and non-members are subject to drop-in fees. Players are expected to adhere to our code of conduct and have good sportsman like behavior. Paddle holders are located on the patio for courts 1-8. Players wishing to grab a game must use the paddle holders.

It's 2 on, 2 off when there are less then 4 paddles in the holders. Winners must rotate off after 2 games. When we have larger crowds (4 or more paddles in the holder), its four on, four off to keep games moving.

Courts are divided by skill level for player enjoyment, so please check the level of the court before playing. Challenge Court winners should rotate off after 2 games.

How to Make a Reservation

Non-members can make a same day request via phone should courts be available. You can contact the facility after 2 pm to inquire about morning courts for the next day. Members can book courts three-days in advance starting at 7 AM each day. To make a reservation request, email pickleball@cityofmissionviejo.org after 7 am and include the following information:

ALL requests for courts must include at a minimum of the First and Last Name of at least two players playing in your group. If you are requesting two courts for the same time (the maximum allowed), you must have at least two members playing on each court and you must have at least 6 player names included in your request (3 per court).

The Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center is now taking advanced pickleball machine reservations requests during operating hours for morning courts at 11 am and Noon and evenings at 3 pm and 4 pm. To request a pickleball machine reservation, please email pickleball@cityofmissionviejo.org and request Pickleball Court 6 for the Ball machine, listing desired times.

Prime time reservations for 8 am, 9 am, 10 am, 5 pm, 6pm, 7 pm, and 8 pm are made same day by phone based on court availability.

$10 per hour (Non-members must also pay $8 guest fees per person).

Affordable Pickleball Membership options are available to access the Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center (4 dedicated and 10 joint use courts with lights) and the Sierra Recreation & Fitness Center (4 joint use courts with lights). Membership includes all site amenities at both locations.

This clinic will focus on developing hand-eye coordination, paddle skills, stroke development, footwork, rules and scoring. Games are designed to improve player's fundamentals. All levels are welcome. Players will be grouped based on age and skill level. *Members receive a discounted rate.

JR Round-Robin

Junior Pickleball Round-Robin Tournaments

Introductory junior pickleball round-robin tournament designed to introduce players to match play in a fun environment. The competition format is round-robin to maximize the amount of play. Each match will be 11 game points win by 1. Players will be receiving instruction and feedback by pros to improve their pickleball and match play skills in a friendly setting while also learning and practicing match scoring. Awards ceremony will follow tournament.

Ages 7+
Learn the rules of the game, develop basic skills with drills and rally play in this one-day camp format. Focus on developing paddle skills, stroke development, footwork, and scoring. All levels welcome. Equipment will be provided if needed. Players will be grouped based on age and skill level. No prior experience is necessary.

Pickleball Stars Summer Camp

Ages 7-14
Grab a paddle and join our youth pickleball summer camp! Fun and friendly drills will teach proper technique of all essential shots, with games and rallies to increase the fun! Healthy snacks are provided. Students should bring a sack lunch each day to camp with a water bottle.
