The Community of Character Committee is offering a free online tutoring program entitled "Tutoring with Character" for students in kindergarten to fifth grade. The tutoring will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 pm every Wednesday through May 26.

If you want to see a film that will make you laugh, cry and inspire you, don't miss the screening of "The Blind Side" as part of the Community of Character Committee's monthly free movie event on Sunday, January 20.
"The Blind Side" is a 2009 biographical sports drama about Michael Oher, who rose from an impoverished childhood in Memphis, Tennessee to become a first-round NFL pick for the Baltimore Ravens. The film demonstrates this month's character trait of "perseverance."
Join the Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee for a free screening of the "The Post" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 16.
The public is invited to a free screening of the hilarious comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels†starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine on Sunday, March 18. The event, which begins at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the City’s Community of Character Committee and coincides with this month’s character theme of “integrity.â€

Throughout this month, committee members are demonstrating the character quality of “caring†by fundraising for Relay For Life and adopting two teenage boys from Family Assistance Ministries’ Adopt-a-Family program.

Enjoy the classic holiday film "Miracle on 34th Street" on Sunday, December 17 at Mission Viejo City Hall as part of a free movie series sponsored by the City's Community of Character Committee.
The movie event begins at 2 p.m. and highlights "caring," Mission Viejo's character quality for the month of December.
The public is invited to a screening of the dramatic film "Forrest Gump" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 15 in the Council Chamber at Mission Viejo City Hall.
Sponsored by the Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee, the film presentation mirrors Mission Viejo's character trait of "respect."
"Forrest Gump" was released in 1994 and became the top-grossing film in North America that year. The movie won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects and Best Film Editing.
The public is invited to a screening of the inspiring film "A More Perfect Union" on Sunday, February 19 at Mission Viejo City Hall. The event is sponsored by the Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee and begins at 2 p.m. The film presentation is designed to highlight Mission Viejo's Character trait of "unity" and commemorate Presidents Day.
The City is now seeking adult and student members for its Community of Character Committee.Â
The committee helps plan activities and outreach to promote good character in our schools and community. The teen subcommittee provides a fun way for students age 14 and older to strengthen their high school resumes, build leadership skills, plan events, fulfill community service hour requirements and make a difference in their community.
To commemorate the Martin King Jr. holiday, the Mission Viejo Community of Character will show the film "The Rosa Parks Story" on Sunday, January 15.
In 1955, Rosa Parks created the spark that ignited the modern Civil Rights Movement when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a boycott that successfully ended segregated busing in that community.
