The next time you head to the Potocki Center for the Arts check out the fascinating exhibit on display by art students ranging in age from 5 to adults.

If you plan on shopping at the Coast Vintage Market on Sunday, January 13, consider donating blood for those in need.

The good folks who run the popular market are teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a mobile blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Saddleback College, 28000 Marguerite Parkway.

According to the Red Cross, blood is always needed, and every drop counts in helping to save a life.

A blood drive will be held on Saturday, December 22 to help save the life of a little girl in need of extremely rare blood.

The blood drive is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the bloodmobile at Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive.

Young Zainab Mughal is need of type O or type A blood from donors who are exclusively Pakistani, Indian or Iranian descent.

The Kiwanis Club of Mission Viejo, working with the City of Mission Viejo's Marine Corps Adoption Committee, is supporting our troops this holiday season through the "See's for Soldiers" program.

Along with buying See's for family and friends, you can purchase a one-pound box of See's at two designated sites and have it shipped to Marines who are deployed overseas or stationed at Camp Pendleton. Thanks to the community's support, in the last eight years, the Kiwanis Club has sent 4,020 of these boxes to our Marines. (Note: This program is not available at See's retail stores.)
