Santa Margarita Water District is set to host its free annual Water Festival on Saturday, May 19.  In celebration of Water Awareness Month, the district's family event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 26311 Antonio Parkway. 

The festival features bounce houses, displays, native plant exhibits, vintage fire truck rides, reptiles, face painting and free food. Folks will learn about innovative water district projects as well as receive educational tours of the facility.

The City of Mission Viejo is one of a handful of Orange County cities that will serve as an Early Voting Center for the upcoming Election Day, providing registered voters the chance to cast their ballots early - even on weekends.

The Orange County Registrar of Voters is set to begin early in-person voting for the state's June 5 Primary Election in Mission Viejo and four other static locations in the county. These convenient Vote Centers, which also includes a pop-up mobile voting site, will operate May 26 through June 4.

With the countdown underway until California's June 5 primary election, the Orange County Registrar of Voters is recruiting hundreds of poll workers throughout the county to work on Election Day.

Orange County residents are sought to serve as inspectors and clerks from 6 a.m. to around 9:30 p.m. that day. To participate, you must be registered to vote in the state of California or a legal permanent resident.

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is delighted to work with the Laguna Hills High School Theater Department to promote the school's presentation of "Legally Blonde, The Musical." This fabulously fun award-winning show is based on the popular movie of the same name and follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.

Is your child the fastest kid in town? On Saturday, June 9, he or she will have a chance to earn forever bragging rights in a new community event designed to encourage kids to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

The City, Mission Viejo Rotary Club and Mission Viejo Reporter are teaming up to host the free "Fastest Kid in Town Race" at noon during the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at Oso Viejo Community Park.

Do you have old youth baseball or softball equipment lying around your home collecting dust? If so, consider donating it for a good cause. 

The American Red Cross will honor Mission Viejo resident Greg Vandermade with the "Community Hero Award" at the Orange County Heroes Luncheon at Hotel Irvine on May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

Head to the Kaleidoscope on April 21 for a fabulous free concert featuring talented young musicians.
 
The City of Mission Viejo is teaming up with Community Outreach Alliance Music Performers to host the concert from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Plaza Level at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway.
 
The concert will feature amazing vocalists - Gabby Leigh, Merissa Macchiorola and Corey Angeli - as well as the Triple Braided-Trio & Solo Duet.
