With the theme "Every Body Smiles in the Same Language," La Paz Intermediate School will host its 7th annual International Festival on Friday, April 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 25151 Pradera Drive.

Saddleback College will begin a new chapter in its history on Monday, March 12 when it breaks ground on a new stadium.

The new sports complex will feature 8,000 seats, a nine-lane running track, two turf football practice fields and a soccer field, thrower’s park, concession stand, viewing platform, storage area, modern press box, team meeting rooms, state-of-the-art scoreboard, sound system and more. 

The public is invited to a free screening of the hilarious comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine on Sunday, March 18.  The event, which begins at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the City’s Community of Character Committee and coincides with this month’s character theme of “integrity.”

When you stop by the amazing Arts Alive & Street Painting Festival this spring, don’t forget to swing by the new Potocki Center for the Arts!

This vibrant festival is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 at the Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green and neighboring Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way, as well as at the new Center at 27301 La Paz Road.

Get ready to make a splash during the Grand Re-Opening of the Marguerite Aquatics Complex on Saturday, April 7.

Along with Olympic-style pageantry, the event will give families the chance to enjoy the newly renovated pools with fun games, competitions and recreational swimming throughout the day.

If you served our country any time from 1975 to the present day, we want YOU for the Wars of Freedom Veterans event in March.

This nostalgic day filled with music, gifts and patriotic moments begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.

The event includes a “Welcome Home Heroes” reception at 11 a.m. followed by a catered lunch, program and performance by the Marine Corps Band at 2 p.m.

Rain or shine, the Oso Fit Fun Run takes step in Mission Viejo this Saturday featuring a 5K and quarter- and half-mile runs along with a popular indoor Community Health Fair. By simply registering for this event, you can support your favorite local nonprofit.

The Oso Fit Fun Run will have some star power with RJ Mitte, an actor and model best known for his role on “Breaking Bad”; Kate Tomlinson of Disney’s “Stuck in the Middle”; and actors Aaron Schwartz; Niko Pepaj; and Lacianne Carriere on hand for the fun.

If you have a passion for our environment, consider volunteering during our annual Earth Day & Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 21.  This annual event is from 8 a.m. to noon at Cordova Park, 26931 El Retiro.
 
Volunteers will have the chance to help enhance our environment by planting trees and shrubs at the park located near Carl Hankey Elementary School.  Free hotdogs and ice cream will be available for volunteers while supplies last.
