Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is delighted to work with the Laguna Hills High School Theater Department to promote the school's presentation of "Legally Blonde, The Musical." This fabulously fun award-winning show is based on the popular movie of the same name and follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.

Get ready for 76 trombones, the big parade, and 110 cornets close at hand because "The Music Man" is coming to Mission Viejo High School April 25-28 and May 3-5.

"The Music Man" is a classic, family friendly musical comedy by Meredith Wilson concerning a fast-talking salesman, a small-town librarian, and the good folks of River City, Iowa and featuring the memorable songs "76 Trombones," "Goodnight My Someone," "'Till There Was You," and more.

Community members are invited to a special Spring Soiree where Head Coaches Mark Schubert and Michele Mitchell will provide insight into the recent renovation of the Marguerite Aquatics Complex and honor the 50-year legacy of the Mission Viejo Nadadores.

If you served our country, you won't want to miss the new Retirement Financial Literacy course designed to provide local veterans with life and retirement planning concepts.

Open to all veterans and their partners, the free program is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Is your child the fastest kid in town? On Saturday, June 9, he or she will have a chance to earn forever bragging rights in a new community event designed to encourage kids to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

The City, Mission Viejo Rotary Club and Mission Viejo Reporter are teaming up to host the free "Fastest Kid in Town Race" at noon during the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at Oso Viejo Community Park.

If you enjoy swimming laps, listen up!  You can now make a splash at three City facilities thanks to the re-opening of the revamped Marguerite Aquatics Complex.
 

Mission Viejo's iconic Arts Alive Festival is once again primed to dazzle an array of art lovers from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 at the Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green and neighboring community center at 24932 Veterans Way. The event also extends to the new Potocki Center for the Arts at 27301 La Paz Road.

Do you have old youth baseball or softball equipment lying around your home collecting dust? If so, consider donating it for a good cause. 

The American Red Cross will honor Mission Viejo resident Greg Vandermade with the "Community Hero Award" at the Orange County Heroes Luncheon at Hotel Irvine on May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

Get ready to lace up your tennis shoes and hit the courts, because the Marguerite Tennis Pavilion is hosting a new eight-week Men's Summer Doubles League from May 16 through July 11.

This social, competitive league features a round-robin doubles format for 3.5 to 4.5 players.  The unique tourney bases matches on individual results, and player partners will be rotated after each set to make for a constant challenge.
