Forever Fine Free

The Mission Viejo Library no longer charges overdue fines for any items, and existing fines have been waived. We still charge replacement costs and processing fees for lost or damaged items. Items are declared lost at 30 days overdue. Please see the FAQs about our fine free policy.

Pay Fees Online

Pay your fees for lost or damaged items anytime, using the ease, convenience and security of online payments. Use your credit card to pay all your existing fees, selected fees, or to add money to your account to use for future charges. 

To begin, access your Library Account, and then choose the "Pay Fines/Add to Account" sub-tab option. You will be prompted for your library card number, and your PIN. Once logged in, simply follow the on-screen instructions.

Loan Periods and Renewals

You may check out a maximum of 50 items on your library card. For your convenience, we auto-renew most items before their due dates, exceptions exist. Request EMAIL notification to receive updates on your materials and due date status. Option: Ask to "OPT OUT" of auto-renewal.

Reserves for Items Currently Checked Out

You may reserve up to 25 items at a time on your Mission Viejo Library card. You can reserve items in our online catalog by using the "Request Item" button option when viewing information about a book or other material. Items reserved online can be picked up at the Check Out Desk. There is no charge to place a reserve.
