  • Data Axle Reference Solutions - (formerly known as Reference USA) Provides directory information for U.S. businesses and residents. 

  • Value Line Investment Research - find accurate and insightful investment research on companies, industries, markets and economies. Please note: the library's subscription allows 5 users at one time. If you are unable to login, please wait a bit and try again.

Careers and Education

  • ABCmouse - With more than 10,000 interactive books, fun-filled educational games, puzzles, and other learning activities—including more than 1,200 of them in Spanish—the award-winning online curriculum of ABCmouse is an invaluable resource for young learners (ages 2-8+).

  • Brainfuse VetNow - learn new skills, prepare for certification testing, create more impactful resumés, prepare for and practice interviewing, and search for jobs.

  • Career Online High School - COHS is an online high school diploma and career certification program available through your library. This program offers free enrollment to a limited number of qualified adult students.

  • Coursera - Provides learners with access to more than 5,000 courses and certifications led by top businesses, universities, and organizations. This program for California residents is for a limited time with a limited number of seats. The program is full and there is no waitlist. If you received a “Program Full” message, you can log into your Coursera account on Mondays at 12 noon to see if any seats have become available. Access is not guaranteed.

  • GetSetUp - GetSetUp has a catalog of over 500 classes exclusively for older adults. The partnership between the California State Library and GetSetUp concludes April 30th, 2024. Users will be given 30 days to choose a subscription, after which your account will automatically revert to a free “community only” subscription with limited access to classes. Keep the learning and engagement going by checking out the other online learning opportunities available through your public library.

  • LearningExpress Library - LearningExpress is an easy-to-use e-learning platform featuring online tutorials, practice tests, and e-books. This resource is supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library through September 2024.

  • LinkedIn Learning - LinkedIn Learning focuses on the skills needed to land the most sought after jobs. Courses cover a wide range of topics from business, technology and art. Industry professionals teach these courses in a video format and may be taken at an individual's pace. This resource is supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library through September 2024.

  • Tutor.com - provides 24/7, expert, 1-to-1 academic and job support for learners from K–12 through college, graduate school, continuing education, and career.

  • ProQuest Homework Central - Authoritative information on a variety of topics to assist student research.

  • Archives Unbound - Archives Unbound presents topically-focused digital collections of historical documents that support the research and study needs of scholars, researchers, and students at the college and university level.

  • Britannica School Edition - Britannica School Edition is the go-to site for learning more about any subject—for all grades and all reading abilities—offering thousands of up-to-date, curated, and curriculum-relevant articles, images, videos, audio clips, primary sources, maps, research tools, recommended Web sites, and three separate databases—Elementary, Middle, or High.

  • Britannica Escolar - Britannica Escolar is the leading knowledge-building resource that is universally trusted for accurate and age-appropriate content in Spanish.

  • New York Times

    • At the library: Enjoy unlimited access during your library visit to the New York times via any library computer or wi-fi connection. Register or log in at nytimes.com/register to get started.

    • At home: Use this link to access the New York Times from home. Redeem the digital access code, good for 24-hours, and register or log in to get started. Note: When accessing from home you will need to use this link each day to receive the digital access code.

  • Niche Academy - tutorials and trainings for online resources and services.

  • Beanstack - Beanstack is the Library’s web-based reader tracking platform. It allows you to track your minutes and activities and receive weekly, personalized book and event recommendations!

  • Novelist Plus - Looking for the perfect book? Whether you need to find the next book in a series or find an author who is a lot like your favorite author, NoveList Plus has got you covered! Find author read-alikes, book discussion guides, and "Grab and Go" book lists to help you find that just right book quickly and easily.

  • Novelist K-8 Plus - NoveList K-8 Plus is a database of book recommendations geared specifically for younger readers. NoveList K-8 Plus helps kids find books that are just right for their reading level and interests, including picture books, children's "chapter" books,  and younger teen titles.

  • Teaching Books - TeachingBooks is a database of resources for children's and young adult books and their authors and illustrators.
