Bring your family and friends along for a journey exploring and celebrating one of the greatest legacies in literature.

Jane Austen Trivia
Thursday, November 21 - 6:30pm; The Friends Storytime Room, Mission Viejo Library
It is a truth universally acknowledged that those in possession of great knowledge want to show it off.
Team up with (or pit yourself against!) ‘lovers and friends’ in the ultimate test of all things Jane Austen. Costumes encouraged, but not required. Light refreshments provided!

Want to attend the Jane Austen Ball in Regency finery, but don’t have the pin-money for a custom ball gown?
We’ll teach you how to fake a Regency outfit with a modern wardrobe and some creative thinking. This free program will include styling tips, a thrift-flip demo, and other useful information to complete your outfit for the ball.
Pride and Penmanship, or Pens and Sensibility
Saturday, December 7 - 5:30 pm; The Friends Storytime Room, Mission Viejo Library
Join us for an evening of exploration into the lost art of letter writing a la Jane Austen’s “Pens and Sensibility.” While not a calligraphy class, it is, rather, an opportunity to get into the habit of writing REAL letters, like they did in 1813. Pens and stationery will be provided. Please register.

Dance Like Austen
Monday, December 9 - 6:30 - 7:30pm; The Sycamore Room A, The Norman P. Murray Center
Get ready for the Jane Austen Holiday Ball with this fun and free class! Join us at the Norman P. Murray center to get a head start learning historical English Country Dancing. Can’t make it to the class? No problem! We will still be teaching each dance at the ball itself.

Celebrate the holidays and Jane Austen’s birthday at a special ball. Enjoy historical dancing, crafts, and refreshments in your regency finery or festive attire. No prior dance experience is required.
