Introduction
The City of Mission Viejo ("the City of Mission Viejo", "we" or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is processed and used by us. The City of Mission Viejo is committed to complying with the Data Protection Acts, 1988 and 2003 (the "DPA"). This Privacy Policy is designed to protect you, as a user of the City of Mission Viejo mobile application (the "Application").
What information do we collect and for what purposes do we use this information?
The Application does not collect or store information that can be used to identify you personally, such as your name, address, telephone number or email address.
However, in order to provide and optimize the services offered via the Application, we do collect certain basic browsing information, which does not include personal information. For example, when you use the Application, the City of Mission Viejo automatically records certain information, such as pages visited, searches made, phone model and operating system version. This information is collected and processed by us, or on our behalf, in an anonymous format to study aggregate user behavior and to improve the services offered via the Application.
For example, we may wish to modify the way content is presented to you via the Application, so that we can offer a more personalized information service to you. We do not use this information in conjunction with any information that could identify you.
How does the City of Mission Viejo protect your Personal Information?
We do our utmost to protect user privacy through the appropriate use of security technology: we ensure that we have appropriate physical and technological security measures to protect your information; and we ensure that when we outsource any processes that the service provider has appropriate security measures in place.
The Application contains links to mobile applications and websites owned and operated by third parties. These third-party applications and sites have their own privacy policies, and may use cookies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third parties and your use of such third-party applications and sites is at your own risk.
How does the City of Mission Viejo Share Information?
As mentioned above the City of Mission Viejo does not collect or store information that can be used to identify you personally, and as a result, the City of Mission Viejo does not share any personal information about you with third parties. While we may provide aggregated user information to third parties to assist those third parties in understanding the usage patterns and performance results of certain content, services or other features, this information is anonymous. For example, we may provide aggregate-level reports to tourism service providers for the purposes of showing performance statistics relating to the Application.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, so please check it regularly. The date of the most recent revisions will appear at the top of page 1. If you do not agree to these changes, please do not continue to use the Application. If material changes are made to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the Application.
