Summer Reading Program

Babies and Toddlers

This game is open to children from birth to 36 months. Starting June 15th, register for the program and pick up a game board in the Children’s area of the Library, or print out a game board from home. The game board features a variety of fun and enriching activities for you to do with your child to encourage their early literacy skills. Once you’ve completed all the activities, you earn a board book for your child!

Youth

This game is open to kids ages 3 to 12. You can read on your own or have someone read to you. Starting June 15th, register for the program and pick up a game board in the Children’s area of the Library, or print out a game board from home. Log the time you spend reading. You earn a prize for every 3 hours of reading, so bring your game board to the Library to redeem your prize.

Teens

Teens ages 13 – 17 are invited to spend June and July reading their favorite books for fun and prizes!

Here’s how it works:

  • Register for the program in Children’s area of the library.
  • Pick up a game card and keep track of your time spent reading. Every three hours you’ll earn an entry into the grand prize raffle. After six hours of reading, earn a paperback book of your choice to keep. Do it one more time for a total of twelve hours, and you earn another book!  Want to earn more raffle tickets? Review your reads! You’ll get 1 raffle ticket for every review form you bring in.
  • What can you read? Books, obviously, but also manga, and graphic novels! Even audiobooks count towards your time spent reading!

Prizes for the grand prize raffle include:

  • $25 Gift Cards
  • TI-84 Graphic Calculator
  • App Enabled R2-D2 Sphero (Star Wars Edition)
